New Job
I have started a new part time job at the local arts center teaching calligraphy. So far I have only had one class and it seems to be going well. I must admit I thought it would be a little more difficult to teach the class. Taking into consideration it has been close to two decades ago that I started to learn calligraphy and it is hard to remember how I started and what difficulties I had trying to get the pen to work right, the right ink flow, and how to hold the pen right. So in some ways it was like starting all over again for myself. I have to say the students I have are picking it up rather quickly and just need the repetition in their practice to form the letters smoothly. I find calligraphy does intimidate a fair number of people but it really should not. It is easy to learn but it does take a fair amount of practice and patience to make it look good. That is the key: patience and practice.
Winter is Done
It was a long winter. Ann was absorbed in home renovations — something I’ll let her share with you — and I was lazy.
Now that we’re older, wiser, and waking up from a rough winter it’s time to get some things done. There’s a lot of exciting things in the future, but for now I want you to go to the Facebook page and become a fan! Leave a review, comment on the wall, start a discussion — it’s time to get the blood flowing in time for spring!
Looking forward to an exciting year with you!
Prices and Titles are Up!
Obviously the website is not yet 100%, but I wanted to drop in and note that the Products > Manuscripts has the titles and prices up, and some of the pendants are priced. For reference, if you’re looking, the pendants run $25 unless otherwise marked, though until all the prices are up it’s wise to ask.
If you have any questions regarding the website in the interim, do drop Ann a line at admin@veronicasveil.net!
Not Quite…
Hey, I hope you’re a new reader from the Holiday Open House over at Pottorf! =D
Anyway, the site is not 100% quite yet. I’m having some trouble with the images and certain galleries not pulling up. =( So keep an eye open for when that goes down; I’ll get everything else up the very second I have a chance.
In the mean time, I’m about the run off to aforementioned Open House — I hope I met you there!
A Quick Note
The website at the moment is down, due to a way-awesome redesign. It should be back up no later than Noon, Sunday, December 6th, 2009. Just in time for the Holiday Open House here in Manhattan, at Pottorf Hall. (4p – 7p. Come out and see some local businesses!)
Please be patient in the mean time. =D
